| talking of coaches, since the great team of the early eighties broke up and bunting left,no coach has managed to give hull a really successful team.the only coaches to win a major trophy with hull in the last 30 years have been noel cleal and john kear.neither can be described as top class.i think the best coach we have had in that time was brian smith.lets hope if agar goes,we can recruit a winner this time.

| Brian Smith knew the limits of his team. They weren't the best players - but in Craig Coleman he had someone on the field to execute his gameplan. He got the team around the park. I don't see anyone in Hull's current team that is capable of this.

Brian Smith managed to get a team of very ordinary average players and gell them into a very good side, by playing for each other, playing as a team with real steel and determination, that is the mark of a very good coach, anyone can coach a team of superstars.

| Phil Sigsworth did a good job whilst at the club, seemed to leave the club surrounded by mystery and rumour though. Would have been interesting to have seen how far he'd have got the club if he'd stayed longer.

Spot on mate, that was awful and it was the start of the dark days that we will hopefully never see again.

| Brian Smith also nearly bankrupt the club, and cleared off when it suited him.
