Just seen that RL Epress quoted James Elston saying that Toomy Lee is still on contract with us for next season. Please can we pay him off, he can`t tackle, run, pass, create, back up, step, organise or inspire team mates.

to be fair he was one of the standout players in the first half of the season (put in some bone crunching tackles and MOM performances), the whole franchise debacle has made a joke of this season for the fans and players alike...

Mate our entire team has been shocking over all yeah there have been some reasonable and stand out performances from individuals but as a team we are playing crap and I don't see whats the point in attacking one player?

I don't agree with this at all and I can't see how we can be so far apart in views.

I think Lee is one of our better players and is simply being stretched because of the lack of support around him.
And in particular, his defense is as good as anyone in the team.

Technique-wise maybe. Positionally he is absolutely terrible. Play him at hooker where he should be and let him defend in the middle.

If we had someone who could feed the ball out to him, and if he worked on his defense then yes, but they're two very big IFs.

He's had the odd game where he's looked average and any number of games where he's looked absolutely clueless. Maybe it's because he's out of position who knows but I will be disappointed if we go into the new season with him appearing to be our first option at 6/7. You make a fair point about maybe not always having players around him making the right runs for him but the amount of times he has thrown a flat plass to the dummer runner on the opposition's line, with an attacking line* formed behind, is absolutely criminal.

* by attacking line I mean 2/3 people actually stood at an angle waiting and sometimes even hoping the ball is to come their way

I agree with you there. He is a stand in half back or a hooker. He shouldn't be our main guy as has been proved.
