Hi everyone I am sorry to let you know that my grandad has just passed away.

We are as a family devastated.

Very sad news. First watched him play centre at the first game at Charles Street in 1946, with Pete Riley, Jimmy Rowe,Harry Todd, Cayzer et al. Great player, great clubman. The best of men. My deepest sympathy to you and your family

Very sad news i feel for the family and extended Leigh family, such a Gentleman with a fantastic attitude RIP Sir.

Very sad to hear this news. I've known, and respected Tommy, since I was a young kid, playing with his eldest son, Trevor, and then Ronnie, with whom I worked for a few years. Whilst Tommy may have been 'showing signs of his age' - as he was entitled to, well into his 90's - I felt sure he would live to get the telegram from the Queen. We are going to miss the cheery wave from the Directors' Box, on match days, and the chats about bygone times.

Our heart goes out to Jean, Ronnie and their families, at such a sad time. Your Dad/Grandad will always be fondly remembered.

R.I.P Tommy. I'm so proud and privileged to have known you as a friend.
