Thought I'd start a topic to thank all the fax fans for today, I've enjoyed it as much as any game I've been to in last 30 years today, exciting to the last couple of minutes, a couple of missed chances by both sides which had they been taken with a little more composure when it mattered might have meant a very different result. It had everything except the right result for some of us.

I know there seems to be a bit of bad blood between the 2 camps recently, but had a real bit of banter with a few of you behind the sticks today which was most welcomed.

All the best for the play-offs.

As we were leaving the after match sit down in the East Stand, at the end of a conversation with Ben blackone of us said "you will beat Sheffield" and he replied "not bothered"
It's true, had witnesses.

Both sets of players had so much to prove today, I'm sure he will be up for it against the Eagles, after he gets over the disappointment of today, that is. Whoever had lost that game today would have been absolutely gutted. WE looked absolutely shattered in the last 20 mins my only hope is we are not selected for Thursday nights tv game. I'm sure neither side will be looking forward to such a short turn around after that one.

Couldn't agree more. Great match, great atmosphere, two decent sides giving plenty. Watching Handforth today was like watching him last year, he was the difference between the two sides.

Couldn't have agreed more and allthough we nicked it in the end either side right up untill the death could have won it.
If and when we meet again I think it will be the same very little between the sides.
The Batley lads who were stood next to me were very vocal all the game and at the end we had a chat and shook hands and said hope we meet again.

I guess we saw the best and worst of Ben Black today. First half at his very best and second half showed why we didnt keep him. Good job he went back to his form from last season because he was ripping us to shreds in the first half.

Totally agree. Maybe the idiots in the South Stand will one day get off his back.

After watching the dross of wakefield v widnes in a hole of a ground I think Sky have really messed up not showing championship rugby - i know which match had better rugby

Perhaps they just do not understand what he does.

The sad irony of this pathetic franchise system is that if "fair play" was one of RL's policies then maybe a relegation match between these two minnows might have been worth watching. But as it happens .... who won ... what was the score .... but come to think of it .................. does anybody really care?

Some of the hits that our pack were putting in the mid field on the Batley forwards in the second half were massive and just sapped a little out of them which finally gave us some go forward and a chance to get some better field position.

Handforth being brought on gave us some guile in the Batley 20, it took us nearly 60 minutes to get a sniff and we managed to take every chance we had.
If any of them had gone to ground then it would have been a different result.
