| So Sky Bet have us at 100/1 to win the league, least favourites, Hull KR and Leigh are closest `` Least Favourites `` to us at 33/1. So the bookies have us a long way adrift as the worst squad in the League and I suppose on paper its hard to put up a convincing argument against that. Of course attitude, desire, luck with injuries, team spirit etc can upset the odds.
I wonder why our odds are so ungenerous, 100/1 is not going to encourage anyone to place a sentimental bet, why not make it 1,000,000/1.

| This season I don't think anyone can offer a swaying argument for us not to be favourites for relegation. As ever this could be to our advantage. Everything is very much an unknown, I hope the sum of the team is greater than the parts.

You would never get those odds you are quoting, because even for massive bookies, paying out £1,000,000 for a £1 stake would be pretty catastrophic, and just downright bad mathematics!! I'm with William Hill and they have us at 100/1 as well. It is rare for us to be the complete outsiders, and Leigh are massively underpriced IMO, but they must be quite impressed by their recruitment, but time will tell i suppose.......

| Remember this is to win the league not avoid relegation.
HKR have history of making a final as have Salford.
But ultimately, the odds are not set for who they just think are least likely to win.
They clearly think Wakefield supporters need a more tempting offer to bet. That's all they are doing. They want you to bet on a losing option.
If someone actually places a decent bet, those odds will change.

I think another reason why we are those odds, would be having Applegarth as coach, i reckon with the exact same squad, but say with Kristian Wolff in charge, we'd be about 25/1 probably. They would take into account he's a complete novice at that level, with even less experience around the first team than Poching.

Yep, generally it's weight of money that shorten odds, i used to be a bookies clerk on Britain's racecourses many moons ago, very interesting world, but could get quite murky at times, probably not so much nowadays.....

| Lets be honest here, 100-1 for us to win the league is about right.
However, remember Leicester City??
5,000-1 to win the Prem League????
It can happen.....
I'll wait and see what the relegation odds are first...
And the game isn't played on "recruitment" (Wire 2022) or paper.
It's played on a pitch and most of our squad have played together in SL - unlike Leigh's for example.
Up the Trin!

| You can counter the 100/1 outsider of the lot price by saying the 8/1 for us to make the Top 6 is actually a bit of value. I'm not saying it's expected and I'm more than aware that next season will be a tough year to stay competitive and avoid relegation but there's always a surprise team that exceeds expectation, why couldn't that be us ?

Bang on BG.
In honesty, it's difficult to see us higher than 9/10/11th but, it's the same every year.
Applegarth will bring some fresh ideas and plenty of enthusiasm and he's done pretty well with the reserves etc.
As usual, we live in hope and if we can have a little bit more luck with injuries (the lack of them), we will go ok.
We played most of last season without our first choice three quarters, although, Hall and Murphy were exceptional "replacements".
As usual, it will be the pack and the halves who make the difference and we have some new faces.
However, if we stay relatively injury free and the new guys fit in well, we will be ok.
It's a big year too, our 150th anniversary, which is a huge milestone.
Come on Trin !

| The only comfort I get from this is it's Sky doing the forecasting, they've probably heard it from the bookies or the Warrington wolve, or maybe they've consulted Dick & Liddie, or the peg seller, or that waste of space we got from Cas for a season, or maybe even the font of all RL knowledge from Wigun, he's done wonderfully well on Sky with his prediction.

That's not how it works now.
They get the prices from central analytics companies, then the traders will see if there is anything to change based on their own knowledge or the amount of money posted.
Thats why you often see the same odds at different bookies before the events get close.
