Has anyone else heard anything. It would be a goal kicking option.

Worth it for his goal kicking alone and Mellers isn't really pulling up any trees at centre.

I think we have a chance of turning his career around and his goal kicking would be a great addition. But what about Walshaw? I don't rate sykes as a half back at all ! Don't want Walshaw to take a back seat.

Would be happy enough with this for his goalkicking alone.

Looked the business at London, gone well off the boil at Bulls and defensively poor.
Very good goal kicker though, and half decent in attack.
TBH fitting a Kicker in anywhere else on the field is going to be equally awkward, its just a shame one of our youngsters may miss out on a shirt if its the case.

Sykes is not a half back. He's said so himself. He played there for Bradford only because we had no one else to take the spot.

He's a solid, if unspectacular player. He's on the fringe at Bradford and likely to not be called up to the first team any time soon.

He was after a fair sized wage in pre-season, thats why we went for Mathers. I wonder if we have struck a similar kind of deal?

I'm not a fan of Sykes, but we do need a kicker. If true, I'd be tempted to put him on the wing and let Cockayne replace Mellars in the centre.

Bags of effort but he's just an honest plodder. Had an absolute blinder against the Giants last season but those games are few and far between nowadays.

he can kick goals, and can't be any worse than mellars is at the moment (is he carrying a knock?).

i'm trying to find other positives.
