| I presume that Leigh Life will not be broadcasting tomorrow.
Anyone know of any other way to hear the game live on a local radio station ?

| Radio Manchester has become 'pants' unless Wigan, Warrington or Salford are playing, they just play pop music, BBC Radio Leeds, is much better. They have reporters at all 'local' championship games, but GMR just give the occasional update on Leigh/Swinton/Rochdale/Oldham. I just follow Mark Taylor on twitter if I can't make it to the game.
Hull KR v Warrington Wolves
Jack Dearden presents live Challenge Cup coverage of Hull KR v Warrington Wolves. Kick-off at 2pm.
Bless..shouldn't this be on Radio Merseyside....not Manchester !

| Seems they've changed their minds from last season when they'd decided they weren't covering Warrington any more.
Took until 5pm last week before they even decided on the final score in our game.

| Radio Manchester are supposed to be a community type radio station (thus the various minority group programmes).
Couldn't be bothered sending a reporter today to a derby game involving two of its (so called) area clubs.
Radio Cumbria can manage a reporter at each of its area clubs home & away fixtures to give fans coverage so why can't radio Manchester as after all its our money that pays for this 'service' ?

I did and got this reply:
Dear Henry
Many thanks for your email.
I will do my best to give you answers to your questions: As you will be aware we do our very best to cover all sport across Greater Manchester as best that we can, within the sports budget that we have. We do here at Radio Manchester class Warrington as a Greater Manchester club as it does fall into our transmission area. We took the commentary of Warrington on Sunday as we have committed to sending reporters to our Super league clubs (Salford, Wigan & Warrington) even though this was in the Challenge Cup competition. For the past 18 months we have had to make a choice not to send reporters to Championship & Championship one matches. On Sunday we acknowledged throughout the day on air that there was a local derby going on Rochdale v Leigh, (as well as Swinton and Oldham’s games too!) in our bulletins and in the sports programme from 2pm Jack Dearden gave out the latest Rugby League scores.
With regards to Radio Cumbria’s coverage of home and away games of Rugby League, the sport patch of Cumbria is greatly different to Radio Manchester, not to go into too much detail: Manchester cover 7 football teams (3 of which were in Europe at the start of August 2013), 3 Superleague teams, a Rugby Union team and cricket team too. Radio Cumbria have less teams and therefore their budget can spread a lot further. Sadly as you may be aware the BBC licence fee has been frozen and we have had to tighten our belts across the whole of BBC local radio.
Henry I hope this goes someway to explaining the reason for adjustment in the change of the coverage of Rugby League on radio Manchester – please be confident in the knowledge that we do our very best for all our local teams where possible. I hope you enjoy our weekly Rugby League programme that we are committed to every Thursday at 6pm with Jack Dearden
Best wishes

| Interesting reply, but luv....how come BBC Radio Leeds manage to send reporters to 4 or 5 championship/one games most weeks. They don't have many 'footy' clubs to deal with eh ?

| If they are short of reporters (and this may sound daft) but as we have a excellent set of reporters covering virtually all our home games, could Radio Manchester not go to one of our guys (or girls) to get a score update and as the same local reporters usually go to away games could they not use them via 'phone' to get the occasional update , that way the club gets the coverage and the Radio station fulfils its community aims.
Dave P and co may knock it back but has anyone ever asked them from the BBC ?
In terms of the reply I do think its a honest reply but just shows how far down the pecking order sport is on Radio Manchester.
On Tuesday Radio Lancashire had Blackpool, Burnley, Blackburn & Chorley all live on different channels with different reporters (And co presenters).
I suppose the problem with Radio Manchester is it just has 95.1 and the internet to put games on - very poor for such a big catchment area but equally not used fully by any stretch of the imagination.
