Seems some Salford players are still refusing to play if not paid. Also it’s saying that some players have been offered to other clubs and if said players are not paid by the 14th that deals could/may be done after that. It does not give player names.
Don't blame them for not training or playing, i wouldn't go to work if i wasn't getting paid, and i'm not putting my body on the line for a job. If i was a Salford player i'd be looking elsewhere.
So the players have been paid and hopefully it’s all sorted for the club going forward but for me the whole thing was handled appallingly.
The RFL should have been tougher and dealt with it appropriately when it first come to light. The club was told to reduce costs and did not comply. The club field a very poor team against Saints and we have still not heard anything from the investigation into that. Then the players had still not been paid and the club are put into special measures again and then they are allowed to change who fits into the cap.
Now I don’t put the whole blame on Salford because they have been allowed to get away with it in what I see as weakness by the RFL and they need to be accountable for how they have dealt with this the whole way through. We have heard about other clubs complaining about how this was handled but they to are complicit in this with throwing different opinions at it.
So now we are nearer to hopefully the NRL coming in to take over or get involved I really hope so. Firstly all the clubs in Super League need to get onboard and less of the self serving attitude that as been killing our sport for years, they all have to be on the same hymn sheet and secondly move away from the RFL. I wouldn’t trust them to change a fuse in a plug for me.
Reading the RFL advanced Salford another £130,000 to pay the players so the game could go ahead on Friday. If that’s true then it’s a disgrace. The RFL are not denying it, they just answered no comment lol
