So, someone would stop watching Halifax for 80 minutes because they can't have a fag?

I was never sure how they'd kept permitting smoking for so long, many stadiums are no smoking venues now anyway!

People go to the magic weekend where they cant have a fag all day, can't see it making too much difference to the gate, gives the stewards something to do too

It is silly.

No non smokers are inconvenienced by folk smoking behind the back of the South stand.

I say this as a non smoker'or rather I will be' when I finish the 54 cigs I have left.

Yes but the poor bugger who has to clean the mess up that they leave behind is inconvenienced. Now the mess will be outside the ground for some other person to clean up, plus if they stay away from the game in view of a non smoking stadium they will go elsewhere where someone else has to clean it up again or alternatively they could just stay at home and mess their own homes up. On the other hand they could just watch the game for 80 minutes without having a fag......rant over

Its one of the most stupid decisions they have made in recent times. I will of course continue to come and support the team but i spoke to quite a few people who will not be returning due to a number of things.

It makes no sense why you cant smoke in such an open space, you are out in the open. The way the stewards were speaking to smokers was down right rude which didn't help the situation either.

Supporters will not stop smoking! All that will happen now is people will start smoking in the stands and in the toilets.

I would strongly suggest they re visit this decision and stop aggravating their loyal supporters who pay good money to watch in my opinion.... a very average team this year.

I could not go to the match yesterday so I am maybe misunderstanding the situation but I thought this was a Calderdale Council descision and nothing to do with the rugby club? It will be the same for the soccer and whoever else rents this public stadium .I am only surprised that you were actually allowed to smoke there as the majority of places like this have already enforced smoking bans.

lots more mess left behind at the end of a game by everyone else, than smokers if look around the south stand as it empties.
