The snag with the system is that, if he is outstanding for you, sooner or later the Giants will want him back. We had four good young DC players at Leigh last season, but two became SL regulars, and a third one went back to SL periodically.

| Personally i do not like the dual registered system, Super League players should come on Loan deals, i do not like the fact that they can come in for a few games then go back play in SL then back down the next week, to me it makes a Mockery of Championship Teams.
However, its there and to ignore it whilst others use it is silly, Another Young lad in the team, I am feeling that so far the team we had last year is going to look unrecognisable at the min. Come on, Confirm if we have got black back next year.

Yet all bar one qualified for playoffs for Leigh? I'd say you did pretty damn good out of it! At Widnes we only really saw Davies consistently but Wigan would decide last min to draft him in as 18th man or to play Crusaders and we'd be without which was a pain. Farrell ended up in Wigans starting line up so not a lot you can do there and Ainscough was shifted to a SL club once call came in!
You get better players out if it but it us a risk, though if you don't 'rely' on them it will be a good deal for 'Fax!

| BAD BAD BAD move no matter how good or local the kid is.
Last season proved how crap dual reg is for championship clubs and I cant believe the powers that be would be daft enough to go down this path. What are we now, a feeder club for the midgets?
Sorry, but if this is the way the club wants to go forwards then they will suffer long term. I'm a fan of over 30 years and this move makes my blood boil. Surefire way of putting fans off as far as I am concerned. For those who think im being a little harsh, just read Alan's comment, they were bang on.
Boy thats got the week off to a crap start

That was stretching things! Yet another RFL 'rule' that seems to 'bend' as it develops. I guess it's a (comparatively) cheap option for we Championship clubs, yet it's heavily loaded in favour of the SL clubs - as you guys at Widnes found out!

I'm with you on this.
If we put dual registered players in the side (in the weeks when the owning club deem that they dont need them) surely it will disrupt the team, as it will put a player out for that particular week. Where do the dual registered players train? Is it with their parent club, or their second club? It is all disruptive and dis-jointed for me.

Think of it this way, as it stands he won't be a guranteed starter and your playing into RFL 'good books' if you want to get to SL you need to play the game and one or two dual regs to bulk up squad their no harm in. Ours looked bad mainly due to injuries elsewhere. But if fully fit squad most of the year you won't miss them when / if recalled. P.s.

Same as SL labs they'll train with parent club in the day and then Champ side at night (I guess do less SL day training in weeks when playing Champ rugby).
